The psychological study of positive and negative thoughts: low mood and anxiety
About the study
It’s important developing psychological treatments to understand why negative or positive thoughts can dominate. This is what this study seeks to find out. Researchers at the University of Oxford are recruiting people who have experience of low mood or anxiety. This could be a slight problem, or so difficult that mental health treatment has been necessary. The researchers will make comparisons with other groups, including people who hear voices, to look for potential difference across groups.
What will it involve?
If you agree to consent in this research you will be directed to complete a survey which will take around 20 minutes. The questions cover a range of things such as information about you (e.g. your age, gender, whether you have ever received a mental health diagnosis), as well as other things like your ability to focus your attention, and your current experience of low mood and anxiety.
