About the study

This study aims to understand how different music can make people feel. Music can make people feel different emotions. We want to know if different people experience different emotions and how different genres of music relate to emotion. At the moment we have a playlist of 272 songs that have been submitted by the public as part of a pilot study. We now want to know how these songs make different listeners feel.

What will it involve?

For this study, you will be asked to complete an online survey on a phone, tablet, laptop, or computer. In the survey, you will first complete some questions about yourself (e.g., age, gender etc.) You will then complete some questions about your mood and wellbeing. Lastly, you will complete a task where you will listen to 30-second excerpts of 16 songs and choose which emotion each song made you feel.
